Many of you who love fashion jewelry are probably wondering whether it is possible to make lovely looking handmade jewelry at home, by yourself. My answer is definitely YES! You can! To be able to know how to make earrings at home, you only need to have a couple of supplies to make beautiful handmade jewelry, a good tutorial (pictures, video or/and written word) and, above all, enthusiasm.

The last one is crucial in order not to give up if you do not succeed the first time. In order to help all of you who would like to know how to make earrings at home, I made this tutorial and made 17 photos with step by step instructions of making simple, but gorgeous looking wire earrings with Swarovski crystals.

Do not worry if you do not have Swarovski crystals at home, since there are many other beads that are made of wood, polymer clay, glass and even from fiber. But in order to know how to make earrings at home, you will need these supplies:

• a couple of beads (glass, wooden beads, Swarovski, polymer clay beads)
• two pieces of 12 cm long wire (0,8 mm thick)
• a pair of round nose pliers
• a pair of flat nose pliers (sometimes cutting pliers also include s flat part)
• a pair of cutting pliers for cutting the wire
• a pair of hook ear wires (which you can also make by yourself – take a look at this article on how to make hook earrings with hook ear wire

You start by taking the first piece of wire and hold one end of the wire with flat nose pliers. If you want to know how to make earrings at home, make sure that you have a good solid and clean surface to work on, otherwise your earrings may get dirty or damaged. Them start twisting the wire away from your – you can also start twisting it towards your left hand, as this is the best, in order to make a tight spiral. To be able to make really beautiful piece of handmade jewelry, make sure that you make a really tight spiral. You can achieve that by holding your spiral with your round nose pliers the way the 6^th picture shows you.

Then put one, three or more beads on the wire and start twisting the second end of the wire, but in the opposite direction. You must actually form an S letter with the wire, but make sure the second ending of the wire will not be twisted too tight – make a loose spiral in order to be able to put a hook ear wire onto your earring, the way picture shows you. Before you put your hook ear wire onto the earring, open the earring loop with your round-nose pliers and close it with the flat-nose pliers.  Now, repeat the process of twisting the wire into spirals also with the second piece of the wire. As you can see, knowing how to make earrings at home isn’t hard at all and your wire earrings can look really special, if you find your own unique way of twisting and bending the wire.
